Meal Planning Monday: 7th January 2013

This is my first 'Meal Planning Monday' for a little while and may well be my last depending on what happens baby-wise in the coming weeks. If you are looking for super healthy, low fat dishes, these probably aren't the right recipes for you as my priority this week is to cook food in batches that can be frozen to then reheat once the baby has arrived. I figure that hearty meals will be best to help give me some extra strength in what will be testing times and here's what I've come up with....

Chicken tikka masala, recipe here
No fuss shepherd's pie, recipe here
Spiced pepper pilafs, recipe here
Hearty pasta soup, recipe here
Lasagne, recipe here
Cheesy broccoli pasta bake, recipe here
Sausage & bean casserole, recipe here

Do you see anything you like? Can you recommend any recipes that are both scrumptious and freeze well?

  2. The sausage and bean casserole looks sooo good!

I don't actually freeze anything because my freezer is TINY, but I'd imagine things like chilli would freeze well.

I love the sound of these meatballs, but I've only ever managed to find turkey mince once here, and even the place I bought it doesn't seem to sell it any more: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/turkey_meatballs_in_16570

    1. Thanks for the meatballs recipe, will check it out. There are a few recipes I've made that have asked for turkey or lamb and I will often just change the meat to something easier to buy here.
