The generosity of humankind

I have now reached the very end stage of pregnancy and I can't help but get philosophical at times about it. Thinking through how it's been, how it has differed to what I went through with Milo etc. More than anything though, what I've learnt in the last 9 months is that despite all the negative goings-on in this world, there are some pretty amazing people out there! Seriously. I apologise in advance, this post is going to sound a tad soppy in places so I promise to keep it short, but it is true.

Over the last 9 months I have been taken aback and left speechless by how generous and kind not only my friends have been (and they really have been) but also how utterly generous strangers have been. A number of people who read this blog, whom I've never met before, have contacted me to offer a helping hand, to offer clothing and a number of other selfless acts and I am so incredibly thankful to all of you who have.

Delicious fresh soups from the lovely 'Yes Please Foods GmbH'

Today I received a box of yummy fresh soups from the lovely folks at 'Yes Please Foods GmbH' after receiving a message during the week from a fellow mum who works there saying she understood how hard it is to find the energy to cook healthy food at this stage of the pregnancy (it really is!) and offered to send me some. I had my first for dinner this evening (pumpkin & sweet potato) and it was delicious. I can't wait to eat the rest!

On top of that I have been given/sent breastfeeding clothing, clothes for the baby, a friends husband spent his Saturday morning doing DIY in my apartment, another friend gave me an amazing present of a changing table and the list goes on. I'm sorry I can't mention you all, but I want to say a massive

THANK YOU

to everyone out there who has called or sent me a message to see how I'm doing, has offered help, leant or given me anything, who has remembered an important appointment I've had and has asked me how it went. These 9 months have truly opened my eyes to how amazing the world can sometimes be and whilst I won't always be able to offer the same help in return, I make a promise here and now to pay all your generosity forward, to help someone else when they need it and to pass on this good spirit. I know just how much it has meant to me and I hope to be able to offer this to others in the near future.

Thank you for being there. As soppy as this sounds, in the future months, when I am feeling lonely or facing some tough challenges, I will think of everything that you have all done for me and it will warm me up and put a smile back on my face. I am not a religious person in any way but I feel truly blessed.
