What to do when nursery is closed!

The boys and I out for brunch at Zimt & Mehl, Neukölln

Milo's nursery is closed for training for 3 days this week and I was pretty overwhelmed at the thought of having the two boys together for 3 days after already having the weekend. However, on day 2, it's going well so far.

Yesterday we had a friend and her 6 month old come over to visit in the morning which helped break the day up and despite a slightly irritable Alfie, Milo went to bed ok in the evening. Alfie then slept better last night than he has the last few days so I have coped ok with the fact that Milo was up and out of bed at a very fresh 5.30am this morning! I didn't have anything particularly tasty in the house so I thought I'd take the boys out for brunch at one of the local cafe's I like and so we headed off out.

 Milo thrilled with his brunch

It went really well. Alfie slept on the way there but woke up before the food arrived so it was a bit of a challenge to help Milo here and there and keep a tired Alfie happy but I did it as well as successfully finishing my brunch thankfully!

We then took a slow wander back home with the odd game of hide and seek and the occassional climb of a tree (by Milo rather than me) and it was lovely.

Both boys are now asleep and I am getting a bit of quiet time to myself before tackling the second part of the day. Today has been a really enjoyable day with my boys.

  1. Looks like you coped all ok and had a lovely brunch and with it being cold at least you didn't have to worry about the wasps. The photo of you and Alfie is lovely.
