With the weather having turned cold here once again and an hour and a half being more than long enough out at the playground in 0 degrees, I had to come up with something to entertain Milo until his dad arrived to pick him up. As I was pondering, I thought back to an email I received from Zulily during the week which included news of their latest Instagram competition called 'Zulily Cuties Getting Crafty'. The idea is to photograph your child doing something crafty (with Instagram of course) and then post it on Instagram with the references mentioned on their blog (go to the above link for more info). The winner gets a £100 Zulily voucher, an art station and a juicy couture bag. I figured why not kill two birds with one stone, so to speak, and so get crafty we did.
I was amazed at how into it Milo got! We made an aeroplane each, entering the competition with a pic of Milo holding his, and then Milo spent over an hour glueing numbers on to pieces of card. That's what Milo enjoyed most of all and he was so engrossed doing it!
Even if we don't win the competition, it was a great Saturday afternoon activity and has taught me a good lesson about trying new things!

ReplyDeleteMy little brotherhates most crafty things and has to be forced to do anything like that at achool! The only exception is when he makes "robots" at home using cardboard boxes - he's been watching robot wars and decided he NEEDS to have robots of his own :-D
Making robots sounds pretty good to me, I must try that with Milo :) I wish he had more interest in crafts as I'd like to explore that more myself but hey ho. Maybe Alfie will?!
