Exploring the world of dinosaurs with children
After a really knackering day yesterday, I simply didn't have the energy to go to the playground with Milo post-nursery. Instead we took a slow stroll home and then I got out the sand box and filled it with a set of plastic dinosaurs and trees I bought from Amazon a while back.
Once again the 'sensory bin' was a hit and Milo spent over an hour playing with the dinosaurs in the box, making up little stories for each and happily hiding them in the sand and finding them once more. He loved it. He's currently learning the different types of dinosaur and I am trying to encourage him to look at their shapes, their tales etc and to talk a bit about them. Sometimes it interests him, other times he wants to just crash them like he does with his cars, but it's good to see him exploring a bit more with his playtime and I was so proud when he rightly pointed out the 'Triceratops'.

What other themed bins could we try out?
