This post is so overdue as Alfie is only just over a week away from turning 7 months! Better late than never though as they say and so here is a bit about my wonderful Alfie at 6 months old.
Alfie is really growing at such a rapid rate and whilst he is still very much the same generally easy going, curious little baby, he of course has his more challenging days at 6 months old. I can see his urgency to sit and even more so, to crawl. He's started crawling backwards which is exactly how it all started with Milo so I don't think we're many months away from a whole world of trouble! Eeek!
Alfie loooooooooooooooves his food and I swear he would happily eat all day long if he could. Baby-Led Weaning is working really well for us and he'll happily eat everything he can grip his fingers around with a special penchant for meat!
Alfie still amazes me with how great he is at getting himself to sleep and he's become a fantastic napper as long as he's in his own cot. We still haven't achieved a full night without him waking yet though and I am starting to get to the point of wanting that now. He's been sharing his brothers room for the last 5 nights but I'll be bringing him back in to my room soon to work on that sleeping! I am determined to get him sleeping through in the next month so watch this space!
There are still no teeth popping through as yet and to be honest, I pay little attention to those gums. Milo's teeth took so long (1 year and 1 week for the first lot), so there's no daily or even weekly checking. I'll be giving up breastfeeding by the middle of September so I am hoping he'll be teeth free until then! When he bites me whilst feeding now, the hard gums hurt enough, we don't need to add teeth to that!
Despite the lack of sleeping through (he's had my up 4 times a night for the last two nights), this little guy is just a gem. I can't wait until he can sit and we can start to get more involved with playing. He loves to dance in my arms and pretty much anything involving his brother. I can't believe he's reached the half years stage already. It's amazing. He'll be riding a big boys bike like Milo before I know it!!!

Less talk at the moment but when he does, it's a variation of all his previous noises to date
