Since Alfie arrived on the scene, Milo has been fascinated with age. He is convinced that, back when he was a baby, I had two babies, as if Alfie has never not been around. He talks about what he did when he was a baby and how, when Alfie is a big boy, then he'll be a baby again. He's not quite worked out the order of how things work yet!
We've had a number of discussions about when it is that he can be a 'papa' (daddy). He's told me quite a few times that he wants to be a papa already and is frustrated when I say ''it takes a long time to become a papa.'' ''How long then?'' he asks me and I go through my spiel of ''first you are a baby, then you become a little boy, then you become a big boy, then you become a teenager, then an adult and once you've met someone you really love and who loves you, you have a baby and then you become a papa''. I asked him what he thinks men need to become papa's and his reply...''to be able to cook''. I was quite impressed with that answer, even if it was a little off from what I had in mind! He also told me he'll have a moustache when he's a papa too and then laughed like crazy. He definitely has my stupid sense of humour!
This evening, I was showing Milo a couple of videos I made of him back when he was a baby. It took him a little while to understand that he was actually watching himself as a baby, but once he got it, he was hooked. ''Show me another one of me when I was a baby'' he kept repeating and I'd play him another. I actually wish I could have videoed him watching the videos. It was priceless. He almost wet himself with laughter.
Looking at the photo above and comparing it to the baby I was watching in those videos, it's unbelievable to see how far he's come. My baby really has grown up!
