Out on the Town with Baby
Last night, I wrapped Alfie up warm and took him out in to the city (Milo was with his dad). It's not something i tend to do with the kids. Milo was such an awful sleeper as a baby that, I was either too exhausted to do anything in the evening with him, or, when he was finally sleeping well, I didn't want to tempt fate and change from our routine. Alfie is easier all round at this age and whilst pregnant with him, I swore that I wouldn't miss absolutely everything this time around.
So, when the Festival of Lights was coming, a yearly event here in Berlin, with the cities popular sights illuminated with light displays designed by artists from around the world, I decided we were going to see it.
Alfie is such a trooper. He actually had a whopping 3 hour sleep in the afternoon, which meant he was still on top form come his usual 6pm bedtime and he had a good jump around on our train journey in to the centre of the city. He loved it. I packed him in to my Ergo baby carrier, we met up with a friend and we wandered through the city taking in the lights, me photographing them of course and i soaked up being out at night. A very rare treat these days. More of my photos from Berlin's Festival of Lights can be seen on my Berlin website here.
Have you ever been to Berlin?
