Remembering the Milestones
I was never any good at keeping those parenting journals. Noting down all the firsts. Sellotaping the first hair cut from your babies head as a keepsake. Nope, I didn't do any of those. I do, however, keep maaaaaaaaaaaaaany photos and I can use those to rediscover those all important 'firsts'.
This week, there have a been a couple of new firsts to add to the memory banks. On Wednesday Alfie managed to pull himself to standing for the first time. He's been working on this goal for a while now and is obsessed with standing. He's still a little unsteady with it, some practise is needed, but I know it won't be long before he's cruising along the furniture. More baby-proofing is on the cards then!
He's also started waving. That ever so regal wave that babies often start with. It's super cute and he's immensely proud of himself each time he does it. Those moments are magical. They don't have to be written down. I still remember the swell of pride I felt each time Milo a new milestone. That feeling is so much more important than knowing exactly how old he was with each achievement. It's the same for Alfie and there are many more to come.
